OUR MISSION

The Bear Lake Valley Health Care Foundation’s Mission is to strengthen community health by developing, improving, and expanding the facilities, services, and initiatives of Bear Lake Memorial Hospital.

We accomplish this by encouraging, receiving, administering, and dispersing donated funds to advance the health and wellness of our community by financially supporting the programs, services, and capital equipment needs of Bear Lake Memorial Hospital and its community partners.

Current Project:

This year, our goal is to raise funds for a new CT scanner with advanced cardiac capabilities. A CT scan produces high-quality, cross-sectional 3D images of the inside of your body.

The upgraded CT scanner has updated technology, less radiation (low dose), higher resolution images, and clearer images in the presence of metal (such as implants).

It also will allow for Heart Health Screening through a CAC Scan (Coronary Artery Calcium Score) which can detect calcium and plaque buildup.

Past Projects:

Past donations have been used toward some amazing projects. Some examples are:

  • Private Patient Room Expansion & Remodel ($2 million raised)
  • Skilled Nursing Facility Addition, Remodel, & Furnishings
  • PACS Digital Imaging System (Funded in part by MJ Murdock Charitable Trust)
  • Digital X-Ray & Fluoroscopy Machine (Funded in part by MJ Murdock Charitable Trust)
  • 3D Mammography Machine
  • Activities Bus for Nursing Home and Assisted Living Center Residents
  • Electronic Medical Records Project
  • Dialysis Center ($1,00,000 Donated by Ted & Elizabeth Schmidt)
  • ER Renovation and MRI Machine

Bear Lake Valley Health Care Foundation also provides funds to nursing students, high school senior projects and scholarships, & Healthy Community Grants.
