Peter M. Crane, MD, FAAFP, DABFM is a board-certified family physician with over 13 years of professional experience. He has served as chief of staff for Bear Lake Memorial Hospital on multiple occasions and continues as the medical director of the Bear Lake Family Care and OBGYN clinic. Dr. Crane is passionate about high quality preventive care, pediatrics, obstetrics care, and chronic disease management. He enjoys working with patients of all ages in multiple settings including the outpatient clinic, emergency room, endoscopy suite, and inpatient. After completing undergraduate education in microbiology and molecular biology at Brigham Young University he attended medical school at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Dr. Crane completed both internship and residency at Ball Memorial Hospital in Indiana, where he served as chief resident. In addition to his clinical work, he has served as volunteer medical director for the Bear Lake County Ambulance Service for many years. He has led several service trips with Child2Youth Foundation and the Tandana foundation, providing medical service in Uganda and Ecuador. He serves as a board member for the Idaho Academy of Family Physicians. He is inspired by his wife and four children with whom he enjoys snowmobiling, trail running, backpacking, skiing, and operating a small family farm.
